FIGHTER

FIGHTERToday we have the in 1977 built tug Fighter (IMO: 7512454, Port of Registry: Antwerpen) arriving. She will be towed by the tugs Union Emerald and Union Ruby. The Fighter will be handed over from the current Belgium owner URS (’Union de Remorquage et de Sauvetage’) to the Dutch foudation ‘Intorno Ensemble’ and will be berthed at Schiedam where she will be converted into a floating podium for all kinds of arts. The Fighter was the first tug involved at the rescue operations at the in 1987 capsised Herald of Free Enterprise. The Fighter is 42 metres long and 11 metres wide and was built in 1977 by Rupelmonde Shipyard, Belgium.
